What age can my child start volleyball at LVA?
Our Developmental Volleyball Academy (DVA) is built for grades 3 to 8. Players are grouped by skill level on the court, so a third grader and an eighth grader both train at the right pace.
Does my child need experience or a tryout?
No. DVA has no tryouts and no cuts. Many players come to us with no volleyball experience at all.
How much does it cost?
A single DVA session is $35. A full DVA season is $300, and a one day a week option is $155. Siblings get 10% off. Flight School and private lesson prices are listed on each program page.
When do practices happen?
DVA trains Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. Our gym is open Monday to Thursday from 5:00 to 10:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with Game Days and camps on scheduled dates.
What should my child wear and bring?
Athletic clothes, court shoes, knee pads and a water bottle. For longer camps, add a snack.
What is the difference between DVA and club volleyball?
DVA is short seasons of skill training with Game Days, without a nine month commitment. Club volleyball is a full competitive season with tryouts, team practices and tournaments. DVA is the best way to get ready for club tryouts.
Who are the coaches?
LVA is led by founder Carlos Luna, a 2008 Beijing Olympian who played professionally for 15 years. He coaches with Leo Colina, a Tokyo 2020 qualifier, and a staff of LVA-trained club coaches.
Where are you located?
LVA High Performance Center, 1400 Summit Ave, Suite D, Plano, TX 75074. Families come from Plano, Allen, Richardson, Frisco, McKinney, Murphy, Wylie and other nearby cities.
Can my child try it before signing up for a season?
Yes. Book one $35 DVA drop-in session first. If your child loves it, you can register for the season.
What is your refund policy?
Each program lists its own policy at checkout. For example, Thanksgiving camp offers a full refund up to seven days before camp. Unused training sessions are not refunded or made up.
